Hosting on Airspaces is an opportunity to earn income from your space — whether it is a home, event venue, office, studio, kid’s activity venue, pet space, warehouse, student accommodation, shoot location, pop-up retail spot or any other type of environment. With this opportunity comes responsibility.
This page outlines the standards that every Host on Airspaces is expected to meet, in order to maintain trust, safety, professionalism, and respect throughout the platform.
1. Accurate and Honest Listings
Hosts must ensure that all listing information is truthful and current. This includes:
- Clear and accurate descriptions of the space
- Real and recent photographs that reflect current condition
- Correct pricing and availability details
- Disclosure of any relevant limitations, risks, or restrictions
Misrepresentation may result in listing removal or account suspension.
2. Safety and Legal Compliance
Hosts are fully responsible for ensuring that their space complies with applicable laws, local regulations, building rules, zoning requirements, fire and safety legislation, industry standards, and municipal by-laws.
Hosts must:
- Maintain the space in a safe and structurally sound condition
- Ensure adequate lighting, access, exits and safety signage where applicable
- Provide clear safety instructions for Guests if necessary
- Comply with capacity limits and occupancy laws
Failure to comply may result in suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
3. Insurance Responsibility
Hosts are solely responsible for maintaining relevant insurance cover for their space, including but not limited to:
- Property damage insurance
- Public liability insurance
- Business and event coverage (if applicable)
Airspaces does not provide insurance and does not accept liability for any damages, injury, loss, accidents, claims or incidents.
4. Cleanliness and Preparation
Before each booking, Hosts must ensure that the space is:
- Clean and hygienic
- Neatly presented and ready for immediate use
- Free from avoidable hazards or obstructions
- Equipped with any promised amenities
5. Clear Rules and Communication
Hosts must clearly communicate:
- House rules
- Check-in and access instructions
- Usage limitations and restricted areas
- Emergency or safety contacts, if applicable
Good communication helps prevent misunderstandings and disputes.
6. Respect for Guests and Communities
Hosts must treat Guests professionally and respectfully. Hosts must also ensure that:
- Neighbours, businesses or surrounding communities are not adversely impacted
- Noise and behaviour expectations are clearly communicated
- Guest activities remain within lawful and agreed-upon limits
7. Handling Issues and Damage
If damage or an incident occurs, the Host must:
- Document the issue (photos, video, or written detail)
- Report the matter to the Guest and Airspaces promptly
- Follow the platform’s dispute and damage resolution procedures
Airspaces may withhold payouts where investigation is required.
8. Maintaining Trust
Trust is central to the Airspaces community. Hosts must act in good faith at all times and notify Airspaces of any updates, risks, closures, or material changes to a space.
9. Failure to Comply
Non-compliance with Hosting Responsibilities may result in:
- Warnings or compliance notices
- Listing removal
- Suspension or termination of Host accounts
- Withheld payouts
- Permanent platform banning
Hosting on Airspaces means upholding standards of quality, safety, integrity and professionalism. By listing a space on the Platform, you agree to these Hosting Responsibilities.
